Bedfordshire Bobbin Lace

Look at the medallion components; lines, grounds, shapes, fill, edges.
Blending naturalistic, organic and geometric shapes. Fiber material is likely linen thread, possibly cotton. Bobbin lace is created by twisting multiple ends, secured and feeding from small weighted stick-like bobbins to create an image outlined on a pattern (pricking) defined by the position of pins on a hard stuffed pillow or roll. It is sometimes also called pillow lace. Regions of the old world have their own distinct and heritable designs, denoted by applying the town or region name to the type of lace created.
